EKG results were abnormal, but echo and stress test was normal. Should I be concerned?

Many factors can cause a EKG to be abnormal. Since you had further testing with a cardiologist that came back fine, I would not be concerned. Reach out to both the cardiologist and your plastic surgeon with your concerns. Best wishes!

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. You will need to get a clearance from a cardiologist. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Hello, thank you for your question. We always have to do pre-op testing especially an EKG. Sometimes one abnormal test is not the only thing that would determine whether or not you can undergo surgery. Further investigative work would be needed. In this case, it all seemed to be normal. If the cardiologist has cleared you and the anesthesiologist has also reviewed the concerns and safety, than often times the surgeon would be comfortable with that choice. This is still up to the surgeon since it is after all it is an elective surgery. We always have to see the risks vs benefits. It is not a rejection but actually more to your benefit. Talk it over with your surgeon.

If your cardiologist cleared you for surgery, then your surgeon will probably proceed with surgery. Your surgeon will want the cardiologist's opinion.
