What types of clothes I should wear after liposuction as trousers & belt? Shall l wear my garment during my workout?

My patients wear compression 24/7 for 7-10 days then over night afterwards.  They often like to use compression more/longer, but there is no evidence that this helps the final result.  It may decrease the swelling faster, but I find that massage, ultrasound, or radiofrequency helps that even better.  Best, Dr. Emer.

These questions need to be answered by your surgeon. We all do things differently, and you need to follow his instructions. You can wear the garment to workout, but not before your surgeon gives the ok.

My patients wear compression garments 24/7 for four weeks. Recovery can range from 5-7 days for liposuction and up to two weeks for more extensive body lifting procedures.

In my practice, I advise my liposuction patients to wear the compression garment for up to 6 weeks, but no less than two weeks. I allow them to return to full activity in five days as tolerated. I suggest avoiding any tight clothing that can create a depression in areas of swelling - like an elastic waistband across abdomenal liposuction.Good luck.
