Hello,Women are currently not FDA approved for the use of the ARTAS. However, our use of the ARTAS does suggest that women who are experiencing androgenic alopecia may be good candidates. As always, women should have a thorough workup including the following:Trichoscopy- identify type of hair loss Extensive history and labs- rule out other forms of hair lossWe use ARTAS with regenerative techniques with women such as PRP and growth factors to help improve overall results.Best,Anil Shah
Thank you for your question, linhuong18. A 20-year old woman should get a hair transplant if she feels that she would like to improve her hairline and/or remedy any hair loss. Please consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon with plenty of experience using NeoGraft and using it on women. Best wishes,
If you are considering a hair transplant surgery, you need to see a doctor for a consultation. Age and sex is not a general factor.
It really depends on the cause of your hair loss. To determine the cause of your hair loss, you'll want to see a hair specialist. The vast majority of 20 year old women are not candidates for a hair transplant. Of course, there are situations where it's possible including traction alopecia and hairline lowering. I would estimate that for every 50 women aged 20 that I see, probably 1 is a good candidate for a hair transplant. The remainder have a form of hair loss that is better treated with non surgical therapies at the present time. But get an expert opinion by reviewing all your details and photos with a specialist.
If you have a high hairline that makes your forehead looks longer, a hair transplant can be indicated at this age. If the problem is thinning hair, on top of the scalp, than it's better to have a complete evaluation and diagnosis of you hairloss cause(s) and initiate a medical therapy to see the results before think about a surgical procedure. Look for a dermatologist dedicated to hair treatment.
It depends on many factors. It depends on cause of your hair loss, the degree of hair loss, and your donor density. It is best to get evaluated by a hair restoration specialist and get react net options.
If you have a high hairline without any history of lising hair, you may be an ideal candidate for hair transplantstion or hairline lowering procedures.
Women are a special case when transplants are considered. If your donor area has no significant miniaturization and you are not treating generalized thinning which is better treated with scalp mincopigmentatio (see video below), then yes a woman can have a hair transplant. Also, we do hairline adjustments or lowering procedures with hair transplants *see web reference below),
The fraxel laser may change the color and the texture of your recipient area so this is a real risk to doing what you are requesting. Ask your doctor about this. I do not see this problem in our patients because of the way we manage the recipient area grafts. See an article I wrote on this ...
Thank you for the photos. It looks like a lot of hair is growing. I do not know the starting point or how many follicles were grafted. Thus, I cannot give you a more precise answer.
You should go back to your doctor and get examined if you are still bleeding and have pain. Ask why this is happening and what you can expect about the pain.
