I accidentally slept on my nose just 4 weeks shy after rhinoplasty. After I realized it and woke up I felt no pain though. Will the pressure exerted on my nose affect the final result?
Answer: Sleeping on your nose after rhinoplasty This is a very common question that patients have after rhinoplasty. Yes, your doctor probably told you that it takes 4-6 weeks for those bones to heal up and things can "shift" a little. That being said, the fact that there was no pain is a good sign. It is highly unlikely that anything happened over the course of the night that would have caused your outcome to change if there was no pain associated with it. Congratulations on your procedure! Best of luck with healing!

Answer: Injury to nose after rhinoplasty It is difficult to avoid all contact with your nose following rhinoplasty. Your nose is obviously healing nicely as it would likely have awakened you from sleep if you had done any damage to your nose while you were sleeping on it. Do your best to avoid contact with your nose but sleeping on your nose should not cause any long term issues with the healing process and the eventual appearance of your nose.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. It is good to hear that your nose is not in pain after you slept on it. It is advisable that you do not make a habit out of putting any undue pressure on your nose because your nasal structure will be fragile as it mends and heals up through the four-month mark. I suggest that you review your post op care instructions with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,

Answer: Rhinoplasty Recovery Hello, The answer to your question is probably not. It is relatively easy to move the bones after a rhinoplasty but pressure from sleeping will not be enough. It's expected that your nose is still swollen but if it looks relatively straight you'll be fine. Enjoy your results. Regards,

Answer: Sleeping position and rhinoplasty I doubt that after 4 weeks sleeping "on your nose" is unlikely to cause any long term issues with the results.
