I went to a plastic surgeons office to consult for skin clarity with the gentlemax pro, I was told this would tighten my skin but would not help with mild discoloration and redness? I was told I would need co2 laser to accomplish that. This is the opposite of what I have read when exploring treatment options, the co2 is also 3 times the cost. I am 49 and have very good skin with some light age spots and broken capillaries around the nose. Could someone clarify?

In my opinion, when you are treating facial scars rather than normal skin, they remain red for a longer time.. I would not be concerned about one week of erythema. You may want to try a growth factor serum. This has the tendency to reduce redness as well as speed healing. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Redness after CO2 laser procedure can persist for a few months. Activity and emotions can alter the redness as well, all will improve with time. Do not hesitate to call or visit your surgeon for reassurance.
