Would I get good results from circumferential liposuction of my thighs and flanks? (Photo)

Question

I have cellulite on my thighs that are large and bulky on the front of my thighs. I want to have slimmer thighs. Would I get good results from circumferential lipo of the thighs and should that include the knees??

It is common to perform circumferential thigh liposuction as opposed to the arms which generally only require posterior liposuction.  The flank area refers to the side of your trunk and circumferential lipo in this area would thus include the abdomen and lower back.

Circumferential liposuction could certainly slim your thighs but it is hard to say what your skin would look like. If you have good skin elasticity then your result should be good. However, liposuction could cause excess skin (especially if your elasticity is poor). Because you already have cellulite, it is possible that the liposuction could make the cellulite look worse. It would be best if you made a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to help you make the best decision for your thighs.

From the photographs it's impossible to predict how well you would do. However circumferential liposuction of the thighs often times leads a significant amount of redundant skin that may be as big an aesthetic issue as the excess fat.

Circumferential thigh liposuction can reduce the size of your thighs but will worsen your skin. In the end, it depends if a size reduction is worth having worse-looking skin.  The alternative procedure would be a thigh lift. This could be done in conjunction with liposuction or after.  Thigh lifts are considered to have moderate patient satisfaction because of potentially visible scars.  The knees can certainly be treated with liposuction. usually i do not do circumferential lipo on the thighs. i did that b4, years ago. therefore, it will take 2 surgeries to achieve your goals. with circumferential there is increased swelling and increased risk of vascular problems in the lower legs, including phlebitis or worse. the cellulite will not get better with lipo. you will receive improved shape and contour in those areas. it will certainly be worth it to do....
