2 weeks is probably a reasonable amount of time off from work.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA......
Most people return to work after the splint comes off at the one week visit. as long as there is no bending lifting or straining (e.g. lifting bags into overhead bins) for two weeks. Make-up can be applied to cover any residual bruising. 80% of the swelling is resolved after 2 - 3 weeks, but it can take up to a year for all of the swelling to resolve.Everyone is different, but these are general guidelines. Good Luck,Dr. Kaniff
Typically patients will return to work about 10 days after rhinoplasty. As a flight attendant, I assume you have to do some heavy lifting on occasion. Therefore, perhaps 2 weeks to return with restriction on lifting for another week.
Hi there.Time off after primary rhinoplasty (that is you've never previously had surgery on your nose) is two to three weeks. It can vary a little as everybody reacts a bit differently. Two weeks is often fine, three weeks almost always fine. Swelling can take a while to go but often the nose looks pretty good after two weeks, so in many circumstances you can return to work at that time.Flying is usually ok after two weeks also. All the best.
After the rhinoplasty procedure, anticipate 2 weeks of bruising and swelling before getting back into the work environment. Full healing in the nose takes a year is to see the final effect. For more information and many examples, please see the link and the video below
I typically tell patients that once they get their cast off after one week they are usually feeling well enough to return to work. This greatly depends on what the patient does for a living and if it involves heavy lifting or exertional activities as this usually translates to several more days of downtime. Since you are a flight attendant, I probably would recommend about 10 days off of work in the event that you experience a postoperative problem so you can be seen right away by your rhinoplasty surgeon.
Typically, within 2 weeks no one should be able to notice that you have done anything to your nose. If you don't mind being seen with a tape on your nose and some bruises on your cheeks you can even go back to work at 1 week after the operation. If those things matter to you, then a 2 weeks break should be enough for you to go back unnoticed.best,Shady Hayek, M.D.Beirut, Lebanon
Typically, you can resume work in a couple of weeks. Although you will continue to heal for the next 8-10 months, you will be able to return to work without people knowing. I would be careful moving the heavy carts for2-3 weeks following surgery.
I typically recommend that any patient whose work involves close contact in the public eye allow 10-14 days for recovery after rhinoplasty.
The old dogma that there is swelling after surgery is true, however swelling after hump removal should show a nose that is swollen evenly, the overall nose should appear bigger, BUT without the hump. There is a simple test you can do at home. Push on the hump for about 30 seconds, if there...
The answer to your question depends upon the degree of collapse of your valve, whether it is just functionally impaired or if it is visually contracted also. A spreader graft can open the valve on the affected side and also restore contour on the contracted side and it can be done on one side...
Dear ycobb74It is really difficult to build up the courage to go ahead with having surgery and it is even more difficult to have an outcome that you did not expect. It is hard to decifer from the pictures, however, one consistent fact is that the body has a miraculous ability to heal. I would...
