I’ve done my research on some dr doctors in regards to the bbl procedure and they say you can sit on your butt normally but American doctors advise against it. Why is that? Other than a doctors discretion, what’s the physiological reasons they allow their parent to sit and American doctors don’t?
Answer: BBL and TT at same time. I have seen quite a few patients from the DR who have had a lot of procedures performed at the same time and some of them have had significant complications when they return stateside so I always caution patients to leave the country for surgery. There are certainly plenty of people who have surgery in the DR and do well no question but you have to be careful of combining a bunch of procedures into a single case. As for the difference in sitting during recovery it is best thought of in this way: When you have a BBL we do not want you to sit on your buttocks for two weeks because we don’t want any pressure on the newly placed fat. Once we lipo the fat and remove it from the body it does not have a blood supply anymore and it has to get a new blood supply in order to survive. If you sit on your butt after a BBL it applies pressure and does not let blood reach the fat and the fat cells die. Think of pressing your finger firmly on your arm—it turns white, and then when you let it go the white turns red again. Same thing happens to the fat in your butt. You sit on it and the blood is squeezed out and prevented from coming in and no blood reaches the new fat cells that are trying desperately to survive and they die. No fat survival no shape. There are also advantages in having the operations performed separately from a technical point of view as well. When you perform a tummy tuck you lift up all of the skin on the front of the abdomen and as a result you compromise this blood supply. The skin and fat of the abdomen is used to getting blood supply from below, but you have to divide all of these blood vessels with a tummy tuck in order to lift up that skin so you can free it up and pull the abdomen tight and remove that skin. You can Lipo this area that you have elevated but you can’t be as aggressive as you can can when you do it just by itself as when you do a BBL. So in a BBL we can remove this fat more aggressively and really get a nice shape to your body and then later during a tummy tuck we can just remove the skin. Also, the amount of skin removed during a tummy tuck after a BBL is usually more then could be removed when performed with a BBL. And it also changes where the incision can be and limits the formation of dog ears. . There are a lot of other technical reasons that I won’t go into but suffice it to say that from a technical point of view I also prefer to separate the two operations. A tummy tuck and BBL when performed together can be done in a timely manner but we clearly know that reducing operative time reduces all of the complications so for a very large case with a lot of Lipo and an extended tummy tuck with a lot of skin to remove the time can really add up and also is a reason to separate the two procedures. I know that patients want one recovery and it is tough to take time off work and have family do the same and financial demands, day care etc etc, but in my opinion, if performed separately a tummy tuck and BBL will get the very best results.

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift You should wait at least 2 weeks before sitting without a support cushion and sleeping on your back. Sitting with no support too soon can harm the newly moved fat cells.

Answer: Why do Dominican Republic doctors let patients sit down on their butt after BBL but American doctors don’t? hello thank you for your question and provided information as well..Based on your question, that depends on the doctor and the way they graft the fat, because for example, many of the doctors here in the Dominican Republic recommend using a bobby pillow the first month to sleep with it to avoid deforming the buttocks because it is fat and it is easy to reabsorb or deform the shape that we gave in surgery.

Answer: Why do Dominican Republic doctors let patients sit down on their butt after BBL but American doctors don’t? Each surgeon has their own post operative protocols to follow. I recommend patients wait a minimum of two weeks before sitting because we want to avoid excessive pressure on the newly grafted fat. Ensure you consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Regards,
