I had liposuction done (I think Liposuction Bodytite technology) from the chest and abdomen areas . I asked my surgeon if he could do my chin too but he said , there weren't much fat there anyway ! So he did some sort of a thermal treatment instead ! Now , I am really bothered that I lost my jaw line and I was hoping I can get a good explanation why I could not get this done . Thank you

Answer: Getting a good explanation and looking for your jawline I think the only person who can explain your plastic surgeons thinking is your plastic surgeon. I suggest you go back and ask him or her for a more detailed explanation if the one they gave you is insufficient. Having a double chin has a lot more to do with the bone structure than it does subcutaneous fat but for those who have fat removing it can give impressive results. We can’t really make an assessment based on the single picture you included. Skeletal structure is the foundation of what determines what each individual person looks like. For facial aesthetics including a double chin we need to see the full face as a profile and frontal picture without facial expression. If you need an annuity you can cover your eyes. If you want us to give you feedback on the outcome of a procedure then we need to see before and after pictures as well. If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. In the end each surgeon is responsible for the outcomes of procedures they perform and likewise each patient is responsible for choosing that surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
