I got a beard transplant that consists of 2000 grafts a few years ago, it doesn’t look as good as I would have hoped when it’s grown. Would it be possible to remove the beard transplant entirely? I am wanting to not waste the hairs to laser hair removal, could it be possible to do FUE on the hairs and use them for the head?
Answer: Options for correction Removing a beard transplant may end up leaving you with scarring. Once follicles have been removed, the tissue is also removed, and once it heals, it may leave pinpoint scarring. However, there are ways to remedy this. You can try to have this removed with a smaller punch, which would remove less tissue, leaving a smaller scar. You can either discard or re-implant these hairs in your scalp. It is hard to tell from one picture where your natural beard hairs are. You may be able to remedy this with an additional beard transplant since it looks like not enough grafts were used to fill in the beard. In addition to this, you could also fill in some of the areas with Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) which we do in both our Miami and NY locations, which creates the look of stubble in the desired area.

Answer: Beard hair transplant It is possible to do FUE and extract the hairs from the beard area to scalp. However FUE does cause small round scars and you may end up with facial scarring after FUE. if you don’t need the beard hair and your own scalp hair is good, then laser hair removal is your best option. Or you can do another beard hair transplant with a specialist to make your existing beard look better.
