Any suggestions on how to get rid of the divot in the lip line at the injection site?

I received lip filler (Juvederm Volbella) for the first time 8 months ago. A few days after the injection, a dent appeared in my lower lip line where the needle was inserted. One also appeared on the other side, but it is much less noticeable. I returned to the injector for my follow up appointment. She was not sure why the dent appeared, so she tried to fill it with Juvederm, opting to not use Volbella again since I did have some granulomas from my initial Volbella treatment. It did not work.

I have no idea why this happened. I inject a lot of lips an have never seen anything like this.  Has anyone ever injected a steroid in this area, like for an acne cyst? Unless you are otherwise unhappy with your filler I would not dissolve it. I would inject some saline and see if this area can be lifted up. If it can be, a few sessions of saline might take care of it or someone well versed at fillers could fill this. If it does not inflate with subcision and saline that is another story but I bet this can be lifted

Hello. Thank you for your question. It looks like the area needs to be filled in with a little more filler. I would go back to where you were injected and ask for a touch up. They should be able to accommodate this if you just had your filler done.

I would inject hyaluronidase dissolver in 2 separate sessions about 2 weeks apart to dissolve the residual HA filler or granulomoa. Expect fees in the $500/session.
