It's not an open wound, the skin is just reddened and raised, will this be an issue?
Answer: Scar in lip Hello and thank you for your question. We would always recommend a face to face consult however in this case yes you could still have lip filler however the scarring may become more prominent. It would be hard to say exactly what this would look like and a face to face consult would be best to assess. We hope that answers your question. Best wishes

Answer: Lip fillers Yes, if this is not a wound you can proceed with filler treatment. You may notice the appearance improves after fillers! Keep in mind that swelling is common after fillers and can take up to two weeks to fully resolve.

Answer: Lip augmentation Dear natdave67, I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times. For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years. In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural. Answer: Lip filler Hello and thank you for your question. Since this is not a wound, I think fillers might actually help lessen the appearance of the discolored skin. It should not be an issue getting lip fillers. Best of luck to you. Dr. T
