I’ve been interested in a lift for years, but decided against it because of scarring/desire to breastfeed, but in this moment, I hate my breasts. I realize this is a crazy question, but would I be able to achieve results with a breast augmentation? I know this would never be the recommended procedure, but if I was looking to get upper pole fullness, would it be possible? Will have a lift after breastfeeding, but looking at all options for now. Thanks for any input, (first 2 pics are me)
Answer: Breast lift Dear teddybear111, determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs. Answer: Results with breast augmentation Thank you for your question and photos. Reviewing your photos reveal grade 3 ptosis, meaning your nipple/areolar complex is at the lowest portion of your breasts. Both nipples are pointing down. Clearly, the best procedure for you is a mastopexy or breast lift. An augmentation will make your breasts bigger and may only minimally lift your breast tissue. Placement of a large implant may give you upper pole fullness, without lifting your breasts. Maybe, this is what you desire.

Answer: Breast Augmentation alone when a breast lift is needed. The photo of the other person actually had a lift (although not an adequate one), but still a lift nonetheless so it is hard to compare just an augmentation to a patient who had a lift with an implant. I doubt you would ever find a plastic surgeon to perform just an augmentation on you as the result would be far from satisfactory. If you need a lift you really have to have a lift as implants don't lift the breasts in fact they do the opposite so in your case just an augmentation would be a disaster. In my opinion you would also be a candidate for only a lift and not using implants as I think you have adequate volume to get a good result with just a lift.

Answer: Procedure Recommendation I would recommend a tall, lower profile implant with Galaflex (internal bra) and a breast lift. An implant alone will not adequately address your concerns nor achieve your goals. I would recommending finding a board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon with 6 years of integrated plastic surgery training, followed by an Aesthetic Society accredited aesthetic fellowship.

Answer: Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift with Implants Thank you for sharing your pictures and questions. If the primary concern to achieve upper pole fullness, based on your pictures a breast augmentation alone cannot help you acheive that. In cases where the breast tissue and nipple are positioned quite low on the chest wall, as seems to be described here, placing implants without a lift may lead to a condition known as "double bubble" where the implant and the natural breast tissue appear as two separate entities. A breast lift (mastopexy) would be the procedure typically recommended to reposition the breasts to a more youthful height and shape. For upper pole fullness, a lift combined with implants can be considered.
