Hello l2367,Thanks for your question.Looking at your photos, my feeling is that your best option would be combination of neck liposuction, platysma muscle tightening, and chin implant placement.I say this because of your particular anatomy showing a short jawline and a forward sitting Adam's apple. This combination of procedures is actually something I perform in an office setting using a combination of local anesthesia and oral sedation. Patients recover more quickly with less bruising and less of a washed out feeling like you get with general anesthesia.Liposuction alone can be performed but it will treat only excess fat. If the muscle is loose and the chin is a bit short, it is impossible to make a more angular neck. Additionally, an in-person consultation to determine the amount of fat in your neck would be necessary to determine what type of change you might expect from liposuction alone. If you have further questions, you are welcome to come visit with us at my practice in Cherry Creek.Take care,Dr. Shah
Liposuction would be a good option as well as Kybella. Liposuction is more invasive and does involve a compression. Kybella is a simple office procedure which little to no downtime.
Quick answer is chin implant and neck lift. Extended chin implant to correct small jaw bone and chin which will also improve the double chin look of your neck and neck lift to tighten the neck muscles and refine the neck.Best
Thank you for your question. From your pictures it does look like you would benefit from submental liposuction. Younger patients with a higher elastin content in the skin usually have a better result because the skin can is more likely tighten up around the structures in the neck to improve the definition of the jawline. I recommend that you have a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon who can go over your medical history, do a complete evaluation of your neck with palpation of the underlying structures, and examine the quality of your skin to get an accurate assessment.
The photographs demonstrate fatty deposits in the neck, a short platysma, and a weak chin profile which exacerbates the neck issue. Consider a chin implant to bring the projection of the chin forward to help with facial balance and proportions for structural support of the jawline. Liposuction in the neck will not be adequate due to the fact that there is most likely fat below the platysma muscle. A neck lift with fatty deposit removal above and below the platysma and the platysma plasty would be required. If there is excess, loose skin discovered at the time of the consultation, a lower face and neck lift is required. For many examples of both procedures, please see the video and the link below
Hi, I have performed many chinaugmentations, using a chin implant, over the past 30 years. From thephotos, your chin is weak creating an imbalance that makes the nose appearlarger, the lower face short and the mid face appear top heavy while de-emphasizingthe lips and allowing early "double chin" formation. Chinaugmentation, using a chin implant, will add projection to the chin creatingharmony and balance to the lower face. I have found placing a silasticchin implant through a small, curved, incisions under the chin to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty thatrequires bone cuts with placement of screws and metal plates. I perform chin implant surgery, in 30 minutesor less, often using a local anesthetic alone. I would combine liposuction and skin removal from under the chin as well. While Chin Augmentation would add chin projection, reduce excess fat and skin, below the chin, the face does show signs of aging as described below that would not be improved with a chin implant surgery. From the attached photos, the cheeksare flat anteriorly (in the front), there is excess facial and neck fat alongwith excess facial skin evidenced by jowls and nasolabial folds. Thesecombine to create a rectangular shaped face. Following the beauty principlesoutlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeksthat are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation using a dermal filler(I prefer Restylane Lyft) or with cheek implants for a permanent enhancementwill create full, round cheeks anteriorly that will feminize the entire face. Jowls are sagging facial tissuesand an indication for some form of a SMAS facelift. The underlying SMASlayer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured. Theexcess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed. My most popular facelift is theminimally invasive, short incision facelift that has all the benefits of moreinvasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face, deep plane and subperiostealfacelifts) but with these added benefits:•very small incisions•minimal tissue dissection = lessbruising and swelling = rapid recovery•can be performed in 90 minutes orless, with or without anesthesia•no incisions within the hair = nohair loss•excess fat can be removed•excess skin removed•cheeks, chin and jaw line can beaugmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or facial implants•most patients fly back home to partsall over the world in as little as 3 days post-op I tell potential facelift patients to think of creating a more beautiful or handsome face by working on three tissue levels. The bony structure should be appropriate to make a woman’s face heart shaped and a man’s face chiseled and angular which is described below. Next the fatty layer should be reduced or shaped allowing the shape to be seen and finally excess SMAS and skin (evidenced by the presence of jowls) should be removed from the face and neck.Hope this helps.
