Is there a way to straighten my nose without surgery? (Photos)

Hello,Thanks for your question. You can visually improve the deviation in your nose using non-surgical rhinoplasty. This involves the injection of filler material to offset minor asymmetries and irregularities in the nose, creating the appearance of a straighter nose. If you have an actually septal deviation, a septoplasty procedure could be performed to anatomically correct the malposition of your nose, and allow you to breathe better as well. Based on your photos, you appear to have thin nasal skin, along with asymmetrical nostrils, and perhaps an indentation along the right side wall of your nose. If you're nostril asymmetry is bothering you, I suspect it's from the bottom of your septum being deviated to the left side. Leaving cemetery at the base of your nose, in my opinion, would be best achieved with rhinoplasty surgery. If you are looking to simply fill in the indentation along the sidewall of your nose for a straighter bridge appearance, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections maybe considered for a permanent non-surgical nose job treatment. Dear Princesslife,Thank you for your question and pictures. Based on your pictures, you may benefit from non-surgical rhinoplasty using fillers to help improve any asymmetries in the nose. This will not correct any breathing problems associated with a deviated septum. If you do choose to have rhinoplasty done, you would need a septorhinoplasty to address both the breathing problems and any cosmetic concerns you have. Best regards,Nima Shemirani

Thanks for your question and photos. Small irregularities and asymmetries in the nose can be improved with fillers and one can either use permanent or temporary fillers. Among the permanent fillers are FDA approved, Bellafill ® or fat transfer (which, of course, comes from your own body). Fillers will rarely improve nasal obstruction or make the nose smaller. For a life long result, a rhinoplasty is still generally the gold standard but many of my patients are delighted with what a filler can do, especially if one's expectations are properly managed.

Your concerns are quite common and are relatively ease to correct with the use of fillers. Performed by an experienced surgeon the results are beautiful and if a permanent filler is used there is no need to keep repeating the procedure. Just understand that this is a cosmetic procedure only and will not correct any breathing difficulties if you do have them. Best luck.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. Surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Very good question. In your case the nose could be slightly straightened using filler but not fully. The tip cartilage appearance could also be softened. Generally, the best candidates for a
non-surgical nose job are typically the following types of patients: 1) Those
who want the bridge of their nose raised or who want a hump hidden to achieve a
more feminine profile 2) Patients with a nose that deviates slightly to one side or the
other. Filler can help make it look more straight 3) Patients with features in
the tip that appear too harsh or pointy and need softening. Fillers can help
create a much smoother and balanced appearance. What non-surgical nose jobs
can't do are help patients narrow their nose, make it project (stick out) less,
or help with breathing. For these issues a surgical rhinoplasty is required.
It is very
important to know that a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a VERY advanced and
technically challenging procedure to do safely. Too much filler in any given
area can cause issues with blood supply to the skin on the nose so it is
essential that you have a physician who is comfortable in rhinoplasty perform
the procedure. There must be an utmost respect for the anatomy and blood supply
of the nose. In experienced hands it can be done safely and beautifully with
results that enhance the appearance of the nose and really help patients feel
more confident.
Depending on the filler used, the results typically last between 1 and 2years. The procedure is performed after topical numbing creme is applied andshould be performed in a meticulous fashion. This means that the proceduretypically takes about 45 minutes.

Thank you for your question and photos.  I'm Dr. Kelly Collins, the physician injector in our practice.  Just a couple of days ago, I saw a patient with a deviated septum who was considering a non-surgical rhinoplasty, and she decided to go through with the procedure for aesthetic reasons.  While surgery will help correct the deformity that may negatively affect ease of breathing, I promise filler can balance and straighten a crooked nose.  Just find a physician who does this procedure every day, as experience with injecting can make all the difference.  You may still want to have a surgical procedure one day to perfect the deviated septum.  In the meantime, however, a non-surgical rhinoplasty may be the perfect solution to give you the nose that makes you smile when you see your reflection in the mirror.  Wishing you so much bliss on your journey!
