I had revision surgery and had my hanging Collumella fixed (along with over projected tip) ; however now it looks retracted. Completely opposite problem! There is barely any nasel show from profile view, base looks flat (making tip seem wider) and sits a tad further up than the nostrils. I know it's a long healing process and everyone says to wait a full year or more for final results but is it easy to tell early on if the collumella was retracted too much?

Answer: Columella issue I can not really say without seeing photos at the minimum. I will say that swelling might mask some of the results.

Answer: Retracted columella Dear jnicholas,You sound like you sure know your stuff and understood the goals of your revision. Because you also had work on your tip the swelling here may be covering the columella a bit on your profile. It sounds as though you communicate well with your surgeon and bringing up your concerns now is certainly reasonable, with the understanding or disclaimer that you know things are very early and will change. I might ask something like "If this doesn't get better after things are fully healed, do you have any tricks up your sleeve to make it a little better?". Their answer should put you at ease, and the way you phrase it will help keep your surgeon from feeling defensive.Best of luck,
