1 day after Kybella, one side of my face is having a reaction to the injection. It's traveling up my face. Should I be worried?

I had 2 vials Kybella today. My second treatment. One side of my face appears to be having a reaction to the injection. But just one side. The rash spread up my cheek a little. Should I be worried?

This is not a common reaction to Kybella. I recommend calling your injector and following up. The times we see irritation in our practice is from patients over using ice and irritating the skin.  The other concern would be that the Kybella was not injected deep enough. Best of luck!

Based on the photos it almost looks like an allergic reaction, infection is less likely, too superficially injecting the product can be a possibility. You need an evaluation by your physician as soon as possible to determine the cause of your skin changes and to start treatment if necessary.

Please go back to your injector for an exam to evaluate if this is just a superficial reaction in your skin or deeper.  It is hard to determine by pictures what the cause is .
