This needs an in-person evaluation, but you should be able to have Kybella. Kybella is best for patients that:1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take monthsKybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results.
Kybella is a bile acid which dissolves fat. This simple office based treatment is a good options for patients wanting to avoid surgery.
Thank you for your photos. Kybella is a great non surgical option. When done correctly it can greatly reduce the fat in the submental region. Many injectors under dose Kybella and thus have poor results. Based on your history Kybella is a good option for you. I recommend seeing a Facial Plastic Surgeon who can assess you and help you decide between the two.
Dear elisacook916,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You should be able to have Kybella. Kybella is good for dissolving fat under the chin, but a combination approach with other treatments is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is the best alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for posting your photos. Your neck can be improved by removing some of the fat under the chin area. This can be done easily with KYBELLA injections. Kybella can cause some mild to moderate swelling and requires at least 2-3 treatments to see a dramatic difference and you need to wait about 6 weeks between treatments. Although liposuction can do the same in less treatments, Kybella is better option for patients who do not wish to undergo surgery or who cannot for medical reasons. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonIG: @drjohnsonlee
Going into a steam room after Kybella injections won’t affect your results, but it could make you uncomfortable and increase the swelling. I’d stay away from extra heat until your swelling goes down. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will help you make your post-procedure care choices.
Thank you for your question. Kybella is FDA approved for treatment of a "double chin". We inject Kybella, a synthetic version of naturally occurring deoxycholic acid, below the skin. It dissolves and removes the excess fat. As the fat is dissolved, an inflammatory...
Swelling is expected with kybella, it is due to the fat cells dissolving on contact with the product and leading to inflammation and fluid. It is thus not quantifiable and depends on amount of fat that reacts, and the inflammation that your body produces. If you had three vials...
