Will going from 410cc moderate profile to 605cc HP round silicone implants give me a significant difference in size? (photos)

Question

I had my first BA 6 months ago and got 410cc moderate profile silicone implants under the muscle but I am not happy with the size so me and my surgeon discussed an implant exchange to 580cc hp or 605cc hp. I'm thinking of going with 605cc so I don't regret not going bigger again. Will this amount of ccs give me a noticeable difference in shape and size? My breast look too natural now but I want more of an augmented look. I am 5'5, 140 lbs, bwd is 13.

The two desirable
results that you show have implants in front of the muscle, which creates a tight
cleavage and the high breasts.  Your 410
cc implants are behind the muscle, which compresses them and they do not
project.  However, re-placing your implants
in front of the muscle has a higher contracture rate and they may be more
visible and palpable.  If you want the
maximize projection, you will have to go pre-pectoral.  Volume alone will not give you the results

Thank you for your question.  The decision of size and style of implants is one of the most important decisions you will make when it comes to breast enhancement.  However, it is also one of the hardest.  In my opinion, if you are looking for a more augmented look you should do one of several things:-Decide whether you are comfortable with your current Plastic Surgeon-Identify a visual "look" that you are trying to accomplish and print out 2-3 examples of this look-Use a more "augmented" implant such as the high or extra-high profile implant and go with the Allergan Soft Touch or Cohesive lineI hope that helps and wish you the very best!Warmest regards,-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Dear jlow.xoxo,Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MD

Hi jlowYou should indeed see a significant change in your in you size and shape.It looks like the first pic is just post op (steri strips), and there is asymmetry present.  If that is resolved great.  If not, address that with your PS.The thing to understand is that the high profile will give much more projection than the moderate profile.  Be sure you look at the diameter of the implants to ensure that they are not too wide or too narrow for your chest. All the best.sek

Thank you for the question. The upsizing of breast implants you are considering will make a noticeable difference; the most important question is whether it will make enough of a difference to achieve an outcome that you will be pleased with. This question cannot be answered online.
Keep in mind as you are thinking about your goals that sometimes adjustment of the breast implant pockets (capsule adjustments) may be necessary to achieve the outcome you are looking for.  Also keep in mind that there is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. 
 
Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering revisionary breast augmentation surgery is:
1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.
2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. 
In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural or augmented” or "up a cup size” or "DD cup" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.
Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. 
3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your chosen plastic surgeon to work with you in determining the best plan to achieve your goals.
