Redness in recipient area after 10 weeks - FUE (1800 grafts)? (Photo)

Question

Dear Dr's Is it normal that there is still someone redness in the recipent area 10 weeks after FUE? The redness became less by time but when will the redness be gone in the recipent area? I have VERY light skin (Im from Denmark) and my doctor gave me an oral antibiotic cure (3000mg a day for a week) Now he says that there is NO infection (I have had a blood test) Do I need a second opinion? Or should I trust that it will fade away in time? Can you recommend a cream against redness?

It is not unusual to have redness in the recipient area for several months following a procedure.This can be due to increased vascularity(blood vessels) and or low grade inflammation-it often is more pronounced in lighter skinned individuals.As long as infection has been ruled out this should resolve with time.If it persists longer than 6 months I would check with your surgeon.

If you are having issues after surgery, especially with "redness" you should contact your doctor.  Most people don't have the redness.  Some people may have the redness that persist for several weeks to months in rare instances.
