8 months post op, and I’m having my implants Removed, I completely trust my PS but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had experience or pictures after the removal. I currently work as a topless dancer and would like to go back to work after a week or so. I really don’t want my boobs looking like deflated balloons. My PS said to get the best results from a lift I should wait 2/3 months, but I’ll be leaving the area in August and really don’t want to come back. Any suggestions ?

Answer: You may want fat transfer instead of a lift Dear Pembrokes123: Based on the way your breasts looked before implants I'm not sure you will need a breast lift following removal. Especially if you plan to continue work as a topess dancer. Once the implants are removed it will take months for your skin to contract to know for sure though. If you are concerned about lack of upper pole fullness after removal you may consider fat transfer to your breasts at the time of explantation. You will not be ready to return to your work in a week should you chose this path however.Best of luck to you!G. Robert Meger MD

Answer: Explant and lift I recommend explantation using The Bellesoma Method. This will remove your implants, reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Implant removal It appears the implants you have are large enough that you will likely have some stretched out skin. Until your breasts have had time to heal you will appear somewhat saggy and deflated. You should expect some skin retraction over time, but it will not be complete after one week. If you wait for the breast lift it will allow you to see the final look from your implant removal and you can determine if you are still interested in a lift.

Answer: Will I have deflated boobs? 8 months p.o. How long will it take to look semi normal and how long to wait before lift? (photos) Thank you for the question and photos. It is difficult to answer your question without examining you. You can certainly remove the implants and see how it heals or you can remove and have a lift at the same time. Recovery can take from 2-6 weeks. It is best to discuss with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
