Implants out and how to address animation deformation? I'm 35 and want to take my implants out.

Question

I am considering doing it under local anesthetic. I have had four surgeries and three sets of implants. It’s a long story and I don’t have enough characters in this question to add it. I’m worried that when I take my implants out that I will still have animation Deformation from the pocket under the muscle. I am thinking of taking them out under local and then months later doing a vertical lift. I've had them since I was 18.

Animation deformity is caused by detachment of part of the muscle with the dual plane method. The cut muscle then adheres to the scar capsule all pulls on it. Removal of the implants will do nothing to correct it unless the muscle is re-attached. You will be compounding an already difficult problem. There are good options to consider such as converting to the split muscle plane. References, examples, and video on my site.

upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and
more medial to increase your cleavage. 
Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast
feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery.  At the same time or later, fat transfers can
be performed if additional volume is desired.

The animation deformity is certainly increased by having an implant.  When you take it out, you will experience less because there is no implant to be contracting against.  Implant removal under local is  certainly an option and can be staged by doing a lift later.  I usually combine a lift with fat grafting for patients like yourself when I remove the implants.  The fat allows them to maintain some volume post removal.  Best wishes.

I think you have a great plan!  Get the implants out and then give your tissues at least 2-3 months to rebound.  They will look weird for the first week or so but then they will fluff back up. You will be surprised how good they look.  And while you might have a small amount of animation deformity after, without the implant under the muscle it is really really minimized.
