I am currently a 34 B (who knows, maybe i could fit into an A but i always wear padded push up bras) and i desire to be a full C, possibly a small D. I am 5' 2'', 92 lbs, chest base circumference of 27'', and am 29 yrs old. I worry if i'm too small for at least 300 cc's per breast if it is even worth it.
Answer: Breast Implant Size and Base Width Diameter Based off of these photos alone - Breast augmentation patients with similar breasts usually do very well and I feel are some of the best candidates and happiest patients. Though you report a small cup size, from the photos there appears to be a fair amount of breast gland tissue present that will help camouflage a larger implant - if you desire. I have patients try on sizers in my office and spend time in the mirror - to help determine the right size, I like the patient to take an active roll. I usually like to feel how much gland can be "pinched" in the upper pole and always measure the width of each breast base (or Base Width Diameter = BWD) to determine which implants will fit any given patient's chest wall. There are so many styles-profiles of implants (and shapes!) now available that it is much easier to find an implant of any given size that will fit even a narrow chested patient that wants larger implants. Of course, there are limitations to volume that depend on the patients size, scar location and how natural they want to look. Miami patients in general seem to want larger implants. Many with similar frames and breasts as yours in the photo do well with 350-400 hp or uhp implants. Of course, you absolutely have to see an ABPS board certified plastic surgeon for a full consultation and exam prior. Good luck!- JL

Answer: What size for this slim lady?? Ask Dr Ellen Sizing takes into account so many factors:1. How tight is your skin?2. How thick is your breast tissue?3. What are your breast measurements?4. What is your goal?5. What can realistically fit?6. Over or under the muscle?7. What is your height and weight ....to name just a few.Although an in-person consultation is essential to sort out all of the variables, including your medical history, don't get all set on how many "cc's" the implant should be until you have your visit. You may learn that a general "C Cup" on you is best met with a 225cc implant! All the factors matter.Try to visit with a ABPS doc, ideally a woman, and try on sizers! That will help you see what matters. And, consider the Ideal Implant! In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD

Answer: Can a very slim woman get breast implants that are 300 cc or more per breast? In most cases this can be achieved with careful consideration of implant types in addition to postoperative care. Of course a good physical exam and consultation by your plastic surgeon is necessary along with a discussion regarding expected results. There may be pros and cons with different implant types and sizes and it is wise to review all this.

Answer: Can a very slim woman get breast implants that are 300 cc or more per breast? Thank you for your question and photographs. I think you are an excellent candidate for a breast augmentation but unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. Be sure to see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

Answer: Can a very slim woman get breast implants that are 300 cc or more per breast? I appreciate your question. The size of implant best is dictated by your chest wall measurements. Once we determine that we can choose the profile based on what you want or need to achieve. If you are seeking a natural look, then the diameter of the implant should be equal to or, more ideally, smaller than the width of your breast. The breast width is a measurement of how wide your breast is at the base, which should be measured at the level of the nipple. Choosing an implant that is smaller in diameter than your breast width will avoid the "side breast" fullness that is often associated with a more artificial appearance. Other than that, you should choose the implant based on volume, not on the dimensions of the implant. Silicone will give you a fullness at the top (upper pole fullness). Silicone implants come pre-filled with a silicone gel and are the softest implant available. They feel more natural, which makes them a good option for women with less natural breast tissue; but they require a larger incision. It may be more difficult to realize if this type of implant has ruptured, so it is important to monitor them with annual follow-up visits. Additionally, because this implant contains a more liquid silicone (less cross-linked), if this implant should rupture, it will leak only into the scar capsule formed around the implant but may cause some discomfort or implant distortion. Anatomic gummy bear implants might be a good choice to give you volume. These highly-sought-after, anatomic implants offer a look that more closely resembles the natural silhouette of a breast, and, therefore, are a very attractive option for individuals seeking a natural-looking, aesthetic primary breast augmentation. Additionally, these implants are an especially excellent option for patients undergoing restorative or corrective breast surgery because they provide more stability, shape, and reduced incidence of capsular contracture. Compared to other types of silicone gel implants, the silicone in the cohesive gel implant is more cross-linked; therefore, should the implant shell “rupture,” it maintains its shape and silicone does not leak. During your breast augmentation consultation, you should feel the different types of implants available, and try on various implant sizers in front of a mirror to help you to get an idea of how you will look following the surgery. You should also bring pictures of the look you would like to achieve, as well as a favorite top to wear when trying on implant sizers. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery. Best of luck!
