10 months after my full tummy tuck with lipo, I’m noticing under my incision has a hardness. My surgeon is no longer in practice

Thank you for your question.  Without an in person evaluation it's hard to determine exactly what is going on.  You may have some scar tissue that hasn't gone away, which can be treated with kenalog injections.  I would suggest seeing another Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to be evaluated and make a plan.  Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your question. In most cases, firmness under the incision is due to scar tissue or fat necrosis which can cause lumps. Heat and massage generally minimizes this problem. Rarely a scar revision would be indicated. I would seek a board certified surgeon in your area to evaluate this concern.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

The firmness you are noticing may be from scar tissue, but an examination is needed to know more. Massage can be helpful in this case to soften the tissue. I would encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation.

While it's difficult to know for sure without examining you, a lot of times the hardness patients experience after surgery is related to scar formation. If you aren't already, I recommend massaging the firm areas 3-4 times a day for 5 minutes each session. You will not notice an improvement right away, but over time (2-3 months) you should feel the area get softer.
