Hello! It appears that you have some pretty significant scarring both around the nipple areola as well as the vertical portion of your scar. Depending on how long ago you had the surgery and how deep that tethering goes, some of the puckering can relax over time. I typically tell my patients that after a year the change will be minimal to none unfortunately. In my opinion, you would definitely benefit from a full scar revision to release the tethered skin by excision and re-suturing the entirety of your scar to give you a nicer fine line. Good luck!
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. The reason your lower breast shape is not perfectly curved is because the vertical incision is a little bit short. Most of the time, the vertical scar lengthens and the lower breast curve normalizes. Some surgeons design the operation this way because it can help the lifted shape last longer.
Dear kelso_618,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Depending on how far you are into recovery you may still notice improvements in the future. It can take 6 months for final results and up to a year for scars to fully mature. You can speak to your surgeon about massage, and if necessary revision to improve your results.
Usually once the swelling subsides and the implants settle, your scar will flatten and smooth. However, if after 6 months and it has not changed, please see your plastic surgeon.
Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note tightness of the infraareolar vertical limb of your breast reduction scar, resulting in a vertically oriented indentation of the skin surface. While the vertical limb of the scar is tight, the medial and lateral aspects of the horizontal scar appear relatively lax. If a year has passed since your surgical procedure, the result is most likely permanent.Revision of the infraareolar scars with excision of residual lax skin / underlying tissue may be required. 15% of cosmetic surgeries can be improved with a secondary touch up procedure to achieve an optimal result.Best wishes...
In general, it's best to wait until the swelling and bruising from the rhinoplasty procedure have subsided before undergoing a breast lift surgery. This can take several weeks to several months, depending on the extent of the rhinoplasty procedure.Additionally, it's important to give your body...
Whenever you have a change in one breast, it is important to get checked by your primary care to make sure nothing unusual is going on. It is usually nothing to worry about, but I would err on the side of caution and get checked.
The technology to do this treatment is expensive and the wand used is also pricey. Your surgeon has figured this in as well as the time needed to do the treatment.
