Hello ! Just wondering if the tightness of the scars will loosen up eventually and my chest will round out. Female , 29, breast reduction with lift.
Answer: Possible Scar Revision Hello! It appears that you have some pretty significant scarring both around the nipple areola as well as the vertical portion of your scar. Depending on how long ago you had the surgery and how deep that tethering goes, some of the puckering can relax over time. I typically tell my patients that after a year the change will be minimal to none unfortunately. In my opinion, you would definitely benefit from a full scar revision to release the tethered skin by excision and re-suturing the entirety of your scar to give you a nicer fine line. Good luck!

Answer: Recommend doing a scar revision followed by laser treatments to help reduce appearance Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Breast scars after reduction and lift The reason your lower breast shape is not perfectly curved is because the vertical incision is a little bit short. Most of the time, the vertical scar lengthens and the lower breast curve normalizes. Some surgeons design the operation this way because it can help the lifted shape last longer.

Answer: Results Depending on how far you are into recovery you may still notice improvements in the future. It can take 6 months for final results and up to a year for scars to fully mature. You can speak to your surgeon about massage, and if necessary revision to improve your results.

Answer: Scar Usually once the swelling subsides and the implants settle, your scar will flatten and smooth. However, if after 6 months and it has not changed, please see your plastic surgeon.
