I’ve had 375cc HP and would like to know if I should expect changes. Will they get bigger / smaller like unders do ..?? Will they settle quicker as they are over the muscle..??
Answer: Implant Placement Dear Bonjela78, I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so it’s not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle. You are still in the early stages of the healing process at 3 weeks post op. You will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. Also, your breasts can drop at different rates. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Yes they will settle a bit faster. The breast augmentation over the muscle has a faster recovery, just because we are not having swelling of the muscle and the there is less resistance on the implant as under the muscle. But you must know that even though it has a faster recovery it shouldn’t be done on everyone, each patient is a diferent case and each one has its own indication.

Answer: Subglandular implants Some times, placing the implants over the muscle can give an attractive appearance to the breast but I've found over time, there is minimal superior fullness. If this is the look that you want, you will be happy at the end.
