I definitely would recommend getting laser hair removal treatments, purchasing a package of 6-8 sessions to see best result to stop the ingrown hair. See your medical provider for best topical cream like hydroquinone to help lighten up the bikini area. Best of luck

Thank you for your question. I would recommend getting laser hair removal, this will get rid of the hair and reduce the tendency for ingrown's. You can treat the area with hydroquinone to help suppress the pigment which over time will help with the problem.

Usually these dark marks are from irritation or folliculitis.  If this is an infectious problem then that needs to be treated.  Then consider some other method of hair removal such as the use of a hair removal laser.  

Try laser hair removal.   Treat pigment with Retin A .05% and hydroquinone 7%.  It may take many months to alter the pigment.  After a year of use the melanocytes are suppressed and results are permanent.  My Best,  Dr C
