Can I Lose Hair at my Hairline from Facial Peels?

We hate saying never in medicine.  However on of the great things about a chemical peel is that it can be extended into the hairline.  In contrast, lasers can damage hair.  For this reason, laser treatments are stopped at or before the hairline.

Chemical peels really don't cause any hair loss at the hairline and they should be done into the hairline to blend the exfoliating skin so there isn't a demarcation later. Sincerely,David Hansen,MD

Thank you for your question. You should not experience hair loss from light to medium chemical peels unless they are going to deep and creating scar tissue or damaging the follicles.
