I had breast augmentation 13 days ago.The incision was in my nipple with the implant placed behind my muscle. I have a bruise with a hard knot under it from my nipple down the bottom of my breast to the crease between my breast and stomach. Is that normal or is something wrong? I would call and ask my Dr. but more than likely they're going to tell me to come in and have it checked and his office is more than a hour away.

Answer: Possible hematoma A hard bruise 13 days after breast augmentation is not something we ever dismiss in my practice. Please go in for an exam. If you have a hematoma, you might require a subsequent surgery. If you wait too long, you might increase your risk for capsular contracture in the future. Please see your surgeon. If you don't have a hematoma, you drove an hour for peace of mind.
