Got results too fast and overfilled. Will volume growth stop after Sculptra?

I got significant volume growth after 4 weeks of Sculptra (1 vial on cheeks, smile lines and jaw line), and that was my first treatment. The peak time of volume growing was in week 6. I'm 10 weeks out of the injection now. But It says that the result of Sculptra will not be noticeable until 3 to 6 months, and continue adding volume for the next couple of mont hs. Does it mean I will get much more volume growth after 3 months? Could Kenalog or 5fu help stop the growth?

Sculptra injections are a great way to restore volume.  These injections work by stimulating our cells to create collagen.  Most patients require several sessions and several vials to create optimal improvement.  Best results are usually seen about 3 months after the last session.  As with all treatments, there are patients who under respond and those that have a more vigorous response.  In those with a more vigorous response, volume seems to come on more quickly; these patients generally need less treatments and wait longer in between treatments.  The volume created from a single treatment should be mostly apparent at 10 weeks with only minimal "improvement" after this time frame.   There is nothing that I am aware of to stop or reduce volume directly from sculptra.   I wouldn't fret that the volume will become much more vigorous at this point.  If you have concerns, always return to your physician or an expert to be evaluated.  There may be treatments that may soften features if the volume is too dramatic.

If you already have thickening of your skin and are happy with the improved volume, do not have another treatment at this time.  Wait and see how you like the result after 3 to 6 months and then if necessary, you can have another Sculptra treatment.
