It’s onkt been about two weeks since my surgery but I’m getting concerned I’ll never have any feeling again. My left nipple is very sensitive and sore, full feeling. My right one is completely numb, like it doesn’t even feel like it a part of me. I hate it. I also have this sharp pain that feels like I’m ripping nerves when I stretch my right arm. It’s right at the crevice where my arm and torso meet right above my armpit. Is there anything I can do to regain feeling in my nipple?

Answer: 2 WEEKS POST BAM AND ONE NIPPLE IS NUMB Hi mshae,It is much too early for you to worry that you won't get your sensation back. It can take sometimes more than a year for the sensation to return. Be patient and discuss your concerns with your surgeon.I would also recommend that you stop stretching your arm. this type of movement can displace the position of your implants and cause a different type of problem. Please discuss with your surgeon what type of exercise that he/she recommends at this point in your recovery.Best Wishes,Dr. Christine Rodgers

Answer: Numbness after breast augmentation For most patients, nipple numbness is a relatively normal and transient complication after breast augmentation. There's nothing to do to recover sensation more quickly; usually time is the only remedy. Hope this helps! Sam Jejurikar, MD
