Yes, you can always change the size of your implant! However, you may want to have a lift procedure done along with a capsulorrhaphy at the same time. This would help accommodate the smaller implant needing the smaller space. I suggest meeting with your local ASPS Surgeon to talk about your wishes. Dear krystine711,Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. Thank you for your question.The breasts will continue to change throughout your pregnancy. After you have the baby and no longer breastfeeding (if you choose to do so), you can have the implants exchanged. Depending on how much your breasts change you may need skin tightening if you go with a smaller implant.

Wait until you are finished having all the children you want and finished breast feeding, then see what size you truly are. If you think you are too large, then have your implants exchanged for something smaller.

We often see woman post pregnancy that come in to re-address their breasts. If you decide to breast feed I would wait about 5 months after you have stopped to go in for a consult for breast implant exchange. In some cases a breast lift is needed when the skin has been stretched with pregnancy and you want to move a smaller implant. I would have a few consults with board certified plastic surgeons to get multiple opinions on your implant exchange.

Patients' breasts will often change with pregnancy and breast feeding (if pursued).  It is too early to say what may or may not need to be done surgically.  All of the options you mentioned are possible.  But no need to sweat it at this point.  Good luck!

Implants can easily be exchanged.  Once your body settles from pregnancy, re-evaluate your size.  You may need to consider a lift at that time, also.
