How much to get my boobs redone?

I got my breast augmentation about 13 years ago in baton Rouge la. I think it's time to get them redone and want them a little smaller. How much is this going to run me and how long is recovery.

The answer to this question usually depends upon the amount of work required. It might not seem obvious, but secondary surgery on the breast is usually much more difficult and time-consuming than the first breast augmentation. In my practice, I usually try to keep things quite simple and most of the time, a secondary or re-do surgery would be priced the same as the first surgery.

Costs for a breast revision will certainly vary depending on your geographic location. Things to factor in for the procedure standpoint will be the facility fee, anesthesia fee, surgeon fee, other fees (e.g., liposuction, surgical garment, type of implant, etc.).   A range in price ~$4000-10000 is not unreasonable, depending on what type of implant used and if capsule removal/pocket revision needed. A consultation with a plastic surgeon will help you in determining which procedure(s) would be the right one for you. Cost also depends on the complexity of your case and how much work would need to be done to achieve an aesthetically-pleasing result for you. Good luck!

South Florida tends to have lower fees then more expensive areas such as New York or Los Angeles. We charge $2800 + MD Anesthesia related costs for implant exchange with saline implants. Since you can get quality work at lower costs, patients will travel from throughout the state, the country, and internationally to have surgery in South Florida. To ensure that you are receiving quality work at the most cost effective prices, consult with board certified plastic surgeons that own their own nationally accredited facilities. The quality must be maintained at the highest level to maintain accreditation. The surgeons also have incentive to hire and train quality staff (to ensure that surgery is efficient and enjoyable), to ensure comfortable and private facilities (to encourage referral), and to eliminate waste (to ensure that these facilities can compete effectively).

Thank you for your question.  The cost of breast implant revision really depends on the extent of work that's required including whether a lift or tightening is also required, whether capsulectomy or some capsule manipulation is needed, if the fold (IMF) position needs to be adjusted, and if acellular dermal matrix is required.   Other considerations: when switching to smaller implants, it usually results in a more natural look.  However, if you have too much excess loose skin as a result, it may require a mastopexy (breast lift).  You can expect the total cost of a breast revision to range from $4000-$8000.  Be sure to consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

Thanks for the question. When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider, type of breast implants… are some of the potential variables involved.In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Make sure your selected plastic surgeon has a significant experience helping patients with revisionary breast surgery. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that additional revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways. Prices of surgery vary depending on which surgeon you choose. So it is best to call around to some of the local offices for that information. the price also varies on the specific procedure, and until you have been examined we do not know what that procedure will be.The price rang e for what it could be considering every variable is many thousands  from high to low so not of any value to you.
