I currently have 650cc HP silicon implants but I am not happy with the size, so my surgeon suggested Saline implants overfilled to 1000cc. Will they be extremely big? And Will they still be soft? And will they still bounce?
Answer: Choosing a size is a matter of personal preference There is a Mentor saline implant that ranges from 800 to 960, so 1000 is really not that over filled. They feel perfectly fine. If you want larger implants because that is the look you are trying to achieve, then that decision is yours alone to make. The best way to determine the size that fits your personal perception of the perfect breast is to try on sizers. We can add sizers to your current implants to see what 1000 would look like. This way you can see how they fit on you, how they add to your current volume, and whether they fit your frame. Although the surgeon can guide you, only you will be able to tell what is the right size. Try on sizers. The patients should be allowed to choose the volume. Then the surgeon carefully considers the base diameter, projection, profile, manufacturer, and fill material that will achieve the patients goals of size as well as qualitative look (natural, intermediate, or bold upper pole fullness or projection), all the while taking into consideration the patient's anatomic features that will affect the outcome. So there are many factors that need to be considered. The experience of the surgeon and the degree to which they explain the options to you is of utmost importance. Obviously all of my patients look at photographs and we evaluate the look they are desiring in great detail. Look at the outcomes and judge for yourself. The outcomes should stand on their own. The subtlety in the final outcome is not achieved by which profile implant is used, it is determined by the skill in the creation of the pocket, the choice of volume, and where in the range the implant is filled. Don't let the doctor tell you what would look good on you. They cannot tell what you perceive to be the best size.I'm pretty sure that anyone that says they do more XL implants than anybody else in the country has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! We don't report our cases or the sizes, so how on Earth would they know how many XL implants any other surgeon performs. That is a ridiculous statement to make.

Answer: Overfilled Saline I would say that they will be very, very firm compared to your silicone implants. Check out the Style 45 800's or perhaps the SRX.Good Luck!

Answer: Going XL Good afternoon!I think you are an excellent candidate for an XL revision- I perform over 200 XL augmentations a year, probably more than anyone else in the U.S., and I can assure you that going from 650cc to 1000cc is not as huge a step as you might think. Patients love them, they do bounce, but they are also definitely more firm than your current implants. All in all going XL is a lifestyle commitment, but patients who take the leap do indeed love them!!

Answer: Revisionary breast surgery with larger breast implants? Thank you for the question. Overfilled saline breast implants tend to be significantly more firm than the current silicone gel breast implants you have. However, barring complications, they tend to soften up with time. Whether or not your breasts will "still bounce" cannot be predicted, especially by online consultants. You may find the attached link, dedicated to "larger" breast augmentation surgery outcomes helpful to you as you consider options. Best wishes.
