I am 32 years old and wanting a Breast Augmentation. I currently am a 34A and wanting a full D or DD. I have been this consistent weight for the past 8 years but use to be a lot heavier in my teens. I lost 75 lbs over a six year period just by eating healthy and exercising. My question is can my body hold up to 450cc? I have been told that I have a high chance of "bottoming out" because of my skin getting stretched at one pint in my life.... I need some advice!
Answer: Implant size and type Dear katdmendes,Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: The Bellesoma Method You have not provided any photographs, but if you have lost 75 lbs it is most likely your skin has stretched and you will need a lift. At size 34 A, each 100 cc’s of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. I recommend a breast lift using The Bellesoma Method. This technique will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. 450 cc implants weight approximately 1 lb each and will displace inferior and lateral over time requiring a revision.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Can my body type hold up to 450cc? I am 5'7 and weight 123lbs If you are 34 around ( if correctly measured), a cup size is about 100cc for you. However, many other factors need to be evaluated not just number of cc to have a good result: you skin tone, thickness, shape of your breasts, chest width, asymmetry, etc. Best is to have a physical exam by a board certified plastic surgeon in person.

Answer: Best way to choose the right breast implant for you I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I do this with my patients, we then look at pictures of women with similar measurements with different size breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Answer: Breast implant options Thanks for your inquiry, without measurements and an exam it is hard to advise. It is not uncommon for a 450 cc implant to be used, so I am unable to comment on the risk of bottoming out that was proposed to you. Please get a few in person consultations to discuss.
