Can I get breasts implants if I have one mutation of C677T gene?

fatimahkhan92.    I appreciate your concern and your first step would be to have a frank conversation with your medical doctor. Both saline and silicone implants have been deemed safe by the FDA and numerous extensive studies have attested to this fact. However, if you have any concern whatsoever, you probably should not get breast implants. Also, discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck

Fatima,Thanks for your question.  The mystery behind the contents of breast implants is blurred.  Many 'non-physician' experts cloud the facts by making false claims that are propagated by the masses  There are NO heavy metals contained in the implants (I just got off the phone with the Mentor technician to verify this).  So if you desire larger breasts and are interested in getting a breast augmentation, go for it.  Just find a board certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck with your decision.Dr T
