How Many Times Can I Adjust Temporary Veneers?

Question

I have adjusted my temporary veneers twice. The second time I shortened them but now everyone tells me they are too short. Now I want to lengthen them a bit again. In the end I just want nice size teeth, with some depth, not all straight or denture like,that are not wide nor square just a very feminine smile. This whole process has been so nerve wracking,. My doctor is a doll, but I'm afraid I might test her patience if I go back again. How many times does it take?

You can keep adjusting them until you are happy with them. Obviously, if you go back and forth, from short to long to short again, then the dentist might find it necessary to charge you for the time and labor spent, but it is worth getting it right in the temporary stage prior to moving on to the permanent stage.

You can adjust the temporaries as many times as you want. Sometimes this process can take multiple attempts. It is important to work out all the details of the veneers in the temporaries so that the lab can duplicate the temporary shape and size when they make the permanent ones. Otherwise, when you get the permanent ones you will be unhappy and they will have to be sent back to the lab.

Anterior temporary veneers are critical. Their form and function should, ideally, mimic the final restorations. Once you have the esthetics you like, the dentist should make sure the function is also ideal. At that point the dentist should make a model for the lab tech to use as the guide for the final teeth. Time should not be an issue, the final result is all that should be important.

You can adjust as many times as you like. It appears you and your dentist should try to communicate better sometimes a photo of what you want to veneers to look like should help also many times we can have the lab tech come in and help with communication good luck

You have to establish the length correctly in the temporary venners so I would tell your Dr. you feel they are currently too short.  Once the final restorations go in you can always shorten them but they can never be lengthened without redoing case.  Better to add to the temporaries and verify the length than end up not being happy with final result.
