I am 5'5, 108 lbs, 29 years old no kids but have lost 35 lbs over the last year. I am looking to restore volume in the upper pole area. I am scheduled for my pre-op next week on October 12th, with the surgery scheduled for October 20th. During my virtual consultation, my surgeon recommended a lift in addition to the implants. What grade of ptosis do I have? Would I be able to achieve good results with just implants? (photos of me + goals included)
Answer: Yes, implants will help you Based on the photographs you have grade 1 ptosis. The means that your nipples lie at approximately the level of your inframammary fold. I think you will be a candidate for an implant alone.

Answer: Breast augmentation Thanks for your question! Your one breast is a bit droopier than the other. I'm not sure that I would recommend a lift out the gate, but I would need to see you in person to give you an exact answer. I would encourage you to seek out an in-person opinion prior to moving forward with a surgery you aren't confident about. Good luck!

Answer: Breast augmentation From your photos it appears you could have a nice improvement in upper pole fullness with breast augmentation alone. If you are wanting the position of the nipples lifted you will want to consider adding a conservative lift. An in person examination is always best as measurements can be taken along with a detailed discussion of your goals.

Answer: Bellesoma Method Your breasts are low on the chest wall. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Do I need a breast lift? You might not need one. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They then get to choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. You can always get a lift later if you feel you are not perky enough when fully settled and healed. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author.
