This is a cobra neck deformity. This is related to excessive removal of the deep fat in between the platysma muscle bellies in the midline of the neck. It does not appear that the submandibular glands were reduced. It also appears that the platysma muscle has separated and there is now a gap out of the midline. I would recommend a deep plane neck lift to reduce the deeper fat further, sculpt the submandibular glands, repair the platysmal muscle bellies back together and very carefully perform superficial fat liposuction. The superficial liposuction of the fat immediately below the skin needs to be very conservative as this fat is critical to having smooth, shiny and normal looking skin. You need to find an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeon; ideally, this surgeon has also completed an aesthetic fellowship accredited by the Aesthetic Society.
Hello and thank you for your question regarding what can be done to your neck 7 months after a prior neck lift with liposuction.Thank you for sharing your history and pictures. Based on your photos, it appears you still have residual sagging neck skin. To address this, you may consider non-surgical options like Morpheus8, which combines microneedling with collagen stimulation, or radiofrequency treatments to tighten the skin. These conservative approaches may provide some improvement without additional surgery. If these treatments do not yield satisfactory results, surgical intervention may be necessary. A formal neck lift would involve an incision around your ear, allowing your neck skin and tissues to be re-suspended for a more defined appearance. However, before pursuing surgery, most plastic surgeons would recommend exploring non-invasive or minimally invasive options first.I hope this helps answer your question. Good luck with your next steps, and remember to seek the expertise of an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon for any further treatments, particularly revision surgery.Sincerely,J. There in no doubt that something needs to be done with upper neck deformity. At this point, 7 months after surgery, it would be too early to do more surgery. Injection of corticosteroid, possibly Botox, may be a way to make visible improvement. Waiting at least 12 months for surgical revision, is always a good approach. Good luck.
Can you be more specific which part you are concerned with? Is it the submental area (the portion under the chin) that you are concerned with? It appears cut off on the photo so it is very difficult to assess and answer your question.
Hello, thank you for your photos and question! The lump appears to be a permeant suture. If it is causing you discomfort you can try massaging it to decrease the sensitivity or consult with a surgeon to cut it out and remove it. I wish you the best!
I would recommend a revision facelift/necklift. The liposuction only reduces the fat directly under the skin; it does not address the redundant skin, fullness of the fat/structures below the platysma muscle of the neck, and poor definition of the jawline.
Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. Addressing the appearance of an aging neck involves understanding the underlying causes of the changes you're experiencing and considering a...
