Failed canthoplasty - can it be repaired?

If your surgeon does not think they can fix your lateral canthus, you should listen to them and find a different surgeon. Repairing the lateral canthus is not entirely straight forward. There is scaring in the eyelid related to the eyelid surgery. A physical examination is needed to assess the quality of the tissue. Having said that, this is a very common situation and more often than not it is possible to improve the position of the lateral canthus. I perform lateral canthoplasty several time each week. Experience makes a difference. Your eyes can be your best feature.

The results of the surgery will all depend on the surgeon's surgical technique and how he/she performed the procedure. Only after the period of time indicated by the surgeon who performed the surgery to reduce inflammation has passed will it be possible to determine whether a subsequent intervention is necessary to improve the results.
