Failed canthoplasty - can it be repaired?

Question

2 months post upper, lowers, and canthoplasty. Lowers were performed with transcutaneous approach. It seems my canthoplasty has failed. My lateral canthals are webbed and my horizontal fissures have been significantly shortened. My doctor doesn't think he can repair it. Is there help out there?

If your surgeon does not think they can fix your lateral canthus, you should listen to them and find a different surgeon. Repairing the lateral canthus is not entirely straight forward. There is scaring in the eyelid related to the eyelid surgery. A physical examination is needed to assess the quality of the tissue. Having said that, this is a very common situation and more often than not it is possible to improve the position of the lateral canthus. I perform lateral canthoplasty several time each week. Experience makes a difference. Your eyes can be your best feature.

Hello @desperate please help thank you for your question. I understand your concern. Eyelids are a very delicate area, and improve their appearance can be a very challenging procedure. The results of the surgery will all depend on the surgeon's surgical technique and how he/she performed the procedure. Only after the period of time indicated by the surgeon who performed the surgery to reduce inflammation has passed will it be possible to determine whether a subsequent intervention is necessary to improve the results.
