You have a double fold. That fold must be very carefully respected. Many eyelid surgeons think it is their job to remove that fold. They think that is what you want when you ask for a blepharoplasty. Please do not let that happen to you. What you need is a very detailed physical assessment to determine what you need to have a result that helps you look more youthful not surgical. You appear to have upper eyelid ptosis. That should be very carefully addressed. It will also allow the eyebrow to relax down contributing volume to the upper eyelid fold. You may also benefit from lateral canthal strengthening (canthoplasty). I would also be interested to know your filler history to understand why your low cheeks are full. Your eyes can be your best feature.
As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question and photos. You may benefit from an upper blepharoplasty to improve and refresh the appearance of the eye. This is done by removing excess skin and modifying the fat in this area to achieve the desired aesthetic. The results of this minimally invasive procedure are known to last for 10 years or more. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can better assess your concerns and suggest the best treatment option for you.
Hello @Warmhearted877686, thank you for your question and showing your pictures. Due to the genetic shape of the eye you can see more skin on the upper part of the eye. However, age and photos show that you can still wait a bit longer due to the fact that the palpeolar rim is still free when you open the eye. If you would like more information and options, I would recommend consulting one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
Thank you for your question and photos submitted. Based off your information provided, it seems that you would be a good candidate for an upper blepharoplasty. This will remove excess skin causing additional hooding and eliminate the signs of aging to the upper eyelids. You should expect bruising, swelling and dressings to remain for 1-2 weeks depending on the procedure techniques and physician guidelines. It is important to find a qualified and experienced Board Certified plastic surgeon to do a full evaluation and provide you with a designated treatment plan to reach your desired goals.
As we age, excess skin can develop in the upper eyelids and can lead to a tired appearance and the heaviness on the eyelids. In addition, normal fat behind the eyelid can begin to push out on the eyelid and make this worse. Blepharoplasty is a very common procedure that we do in patients like yourself to help with these symptoms. It usually involves the removal of skin and/or muscle from the upper eyelid and sometimes the removal of a small amount of fat from behind the eyelid. This surgery, when done well, does not affect the shape of the eye opening, but can help the patient have a refreshed appearance.Based on the photographs I do agree that there is some excess skin visible in your eyelids when they are open, however a formal evaluation of your eyelids would be best to make the proper recommendation for you. We do the surgery very commonly in our office. Please see the attached link for more information on this topic.
In person exam is essential, Based on the limited photos- it appears that you would benefit from an upper lid Blepharoplasty. In the right hands it will rejuvenate and tighten the delicate upper lid areas. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS
Yes you appear to be candidate for conservative upper blepharoplasty. It is important to preserve your natural eye shape. See an expert.
An upper lid blepharoplasty would be a nice procedure for you. Although you are young for this, removing some excess upper eyelid skin would be ideal for your eyelid aesthetics.
You have several options when it comes to eyelidsSurgical blepharoplasty will last the longest and give the most dramatic results - however, I think you are early in the aging process and less invasive options that don't leave a scar may give you nice subtle rejuvenation and allow you to hold off on surgery for another 10 years.Options could include Fotona SmoothEye laser treatments which give a nice collagen boost and smoothing without scarring, or Plexr Plasma treatments (however, you would need to be careful of hyperpigmentation). Nonsurgical options don't last as long as surgery but may be all you need at this point in time.
It would be helpful to see current photos since you are 7 months out. These pictures from the first week shows swelling and it would be helpful to know what type of approach was used for the lower eyelid. If you are unsure about the photos, its best to ask your doctor again.
Common reasons for lower blepharoplasty include tear trough deformity or pseudoherniation of the orbital fat. An in-person exam would provide a more accurate diagnosis, but preliminarily based on your photos it does appear you have pseudoherniation of fat creating "eye bags.” They should also b...
It sounds as if your doctor will not be doing a limited incision approach, such as direct or endoscopic approaches. A pretrichrial lift can be done under local but the facility set up should be like a regular OR. A pretrichial lift can be done under local but may be a bit too much for your...
