Hi,I'm 27 years old.All my life I have hooded, droopy eyes.So I have to apply make up each day,to make it more open and bigger. Also have this habit to pull my brows up,and now I have bad wrinkle on my forehead. Now I decided to make operation, would like to have almond shaped eyes, pull the corners up a little bit and make it bigger.I live in Czech Rep.at least need to explain what procedure exactly I need, but I'm confused what it should be blefaroplasty or canthopexy? Please advice me.
Answer
Thank you for your pictures. To address the wrinkles in your forehand you may need BOTOX. To address the excess skin of your upper eyelid I would recommend a blepharoplasty. To somewhat change the shape of your eyes and the position of your lower eyelid a Canthoplasty will be recommended treatment.

From your photographs it appears that the biggest improvement of your eyelids would result from upper eyelid blepharoplasty. This would make your eyes much more open. The canthopexy would lift up the outer corners of the lower eyelids giving you the shape you desire. Both procedures can be performed in about 1.5 hrs with 2 weeks of recovery time. Make an appointment with an oculoplastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person and tailor a treatment plan individualized for your needs. Good luck.

Dear KarinaThanks for your photosBased on your photos, you probably have a mild degree of ptosis ( droopy eyelids ) and hence you are raising your eyebrows to compensate for it. You also have excess eyelid skin and some fat that adds to the weight of the upper eyelids. If you look at your corners, the outer corner of your eye is lower than the inner corner. This is referred to as Negative Canthal Tilt. A positive canthal tilt is when the outer corner is about 2 mm higher than the inner corner of the eye. A postive canthal tilt is aesthetically desirable. So to improve your eyelid aesthetics and achieve your aesthetic goal, you need an upper Blepharoplasty + Canthoplasty/ canthopexy. You should see an Eyelid Specialist.Hope this helps

A canthopexy procedure involves placing a suspension suture at the corner of the eye lids to raise the outer corners of the lids. A blepharoplasty procedure involves removal of the hooded skin on the upper lids. Both procedures can be performed together or separately.

Thank you for your photos! The purpose of eyelid surgery is to restore a more youthful look to the eyes. The procedure can correct wrinkles, reduce puffy bags, and lighten heavy lids – working to literally open the eyes of the patient – producing a rested and rejuvenated appearance.Good luck!
