I had a tummy tuck revision 11 Months ago. I am very disappointed, I now have a large bulge above my Vagina, a scar being much longer, more crooked, dog-eared at the ends. A scar going in the middle of my stomach. My belly button resembles a coin slot. The doctor is stating there is nothing surgically that can be done for these issue. I’m coming on here asking for any advice or recommendations as to what surgically can be done for these issues?

Answer: Scar treatment Dear Chanellover,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for second opinion. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Scar Revision Hello,You could benefit from a scar revision, which would include addressing the dog ears, the widened, discolored, and irregular scar, and the midline bulge. In addition, a subtle revision to the umbilicus would leave a more natural appearance. Going forward after this revision, an elastic and porous tape should be worn for the first 3 months to aid in scar maturation, minimizing it's appearance substantially. If your doctor can't offer that, go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who can. Best of luck!
