I had a tummy tuck revision 11 Months ago. I am very disappointed, I now have a large bulge above my Vagina, a scar being much longer, more crooked, dog-eared at the ends. A scar going in the middle of my stomach. My belly button resembles a coin slot. The doctor is stating there is nothing surgically that can be done for these issue. I’m coming on here asking for any advice or recommendations as to what surgically can be done for these issues?
Answer: A revision is recommended followed by proper after care with lasers and melarase creams Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. We begin each treatment with combination therapy using Yellow broadband BBL, Vbeam, fractional erbium, intralesional IIT, and scar modulation. Start with a combination of Plato's Scar Serum massaged twice daily after one week of epithelialization followed by Luminase/Exfolase. Scar consultation and revision may be recommended. Answer: Poor Tummy Tuck Outcome Thank you for your pictures. I am sorry you are dealing with this. Your situation can be corrected but it must be corrected in stages. The scar on the left side of your abdomen needs to be lowered. This can accomplished by placing a tissue expander beneath the skin but above the scar so that the skin can be stretched. This would increase the amount of skin above the scar so that scar can be lowered. The overall quality of the entire scar can be improved with removal, silicone sheeting and topicals to reduce the pigmentation. You mons/vagina is a bit more tricky because most of the normal skin of mons has been removed. This makes will not further skin removal an option. If the fullness in this area is due to fat then liposuction can be helpful. Seek multiple consultations. Best wishes

Answer: Contour and scarring issues after revision tummy tuck Hello and thanks for your questions and photos. Unfortunately you will need another revision to correct the issues that you are having. The area at your pubis can be revised with liposuction and potentially a bit more skin excision to correct the bulge. Your dog-ears can be excised to flatten them. All your scars can potentially be treated with CO2/IPL to fade them and make them more flat, smooth and less noticeable. All the issue that you have can certainly be improved upon. If you are not satisfied with the answers that you are getting from your current surgeon, I would encourage you to schedule a few consults with other board certified plastic surgeons in your area. Best wishes!Daniel Brown, MD, FACSBoard Certified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic SurgeonsMember American Society of Plastic SurgeonsCastle Connolly Top DocReal Self Top 500

Answer: Scar treatment Dear Chanellover,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for second opinion. Answer: Scar Revision Hello,You could benefit from a scar revision, which would include addressing the dog ears, the widened, discolored, and irregular scar, and the midline bulge. In addition, a subtle revision to the umbilicus would leave a more natural appearance. Going forward after this revision, an elastic and porous tape should be worn for the first 3 months to aid in scar maturation, minimizing it's appearance substantially. If your doctor can't offer that, go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who can. Best of luck!
