The incision line from my TT became infected causing me to need strong antibiotics. I contracted Cdiff from the antibiotics. Could the infection have caused my corset incisions to rip? Is it possible I need to have a TT revision? I have had a distended hard tummy since the Cdiff
Answer: Tummy Tuck and Infection Unfortunate to hear about the issues that you have gone through. C. diff does cause the intestines to distend and can be an uncomfortable process. It is difficult to tell you if any harm has come about without a proper exam. It would also be necessary for the c. diff to have completely resolved before it you can accurately be evaluated.I generally perform the plication in 2 layers and use non-absorbable sutures so in my case it would be almost impossible to disrupt the sutures. Every surgeon has their own way of performing the plication and I would recommend you follow up with your surgeon once the c diff and distention has resolved.Hope that helps.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Infection It sounds like you had an unusual and pretty serious complication during your TT recovery. No one on this site can diagnose your current problem on line, that requires an inperson examination and possibly some further studies. See an experienced surgeon for answers. I can tell you most of us use some pretty strong sutures that are permanent and place more than one layer of those sutures, so tearing the sutures in that case would be pretty hard to do. I have never seen that happen, but that does no mean you don't have some type of problem that could be improved on.
