I had a mmo done 4 months ago. My areolas are different shapes/sizes and I have loose skin on my sides with a high scar that I cannot hide. A revision is beginning to be a pain in the butt through the clinic. I'd like to find a new doctor. Would I need another full tummy tuck? Or just removing the extra skin and cutting/stitching my areolas the same size? Is it that easy? Is it common for a doctor to make such a mistake with the size of my areolas? Should I trust him again?
Answer: Revisions The high lateral scars with excess skin from the Tummy tuck can certainly be revised. My recommendation would be to complete your tummy tuck into a circumferential Abdoninoplasty. We could certainly lower the scars and remove all that excess skin from the sides and the backThe augmentation mastopexy looks like it could be revised on both sides. You have bottoming out with malposition of the implants and significant asymmetry.

Answer: Correction of areola and TT revision Based on these photos, very likely you can have areola reduced to fit opposite breast. It is possible to excise skin only as a part of TT revision. If you are a patient who had significant weight loss before TT surgery your skin may be overstretched, with minimal elasticity, what will frequently cause skin redundancy after period of time. In person second opinion consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Do I need another full tummy tuck? Should I see another doctor for a revision? In order to evaluate most accurately all views of pre-op and post-op photos are needed, as well as reading the op-report would be helpful. Nothing is easy when it comes to surgery, especially revision. A revision may be indicated after thorough communication with your Board Certified PS. In person exam is essential. If you're seeking a second opinion- be sure you seek an experienced Board Certified PS with extensive experience in Revision Surgery.

Answer: Tummy tuck results Dear melaniemcdonalds,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a tummy tuck surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Do I need another full tummy tuck? Should I see another doctor for revision? Based on these photos and without the benefit of an examination, it appears you would definitely need a mastopexy revision to make the areolae more even and correct the glandular ptosis (the 'bottoming-out effect" of your breasts). Additionally your tummy tuck can be revised to correct the loose skin along the sides while lowering the scar. Much of this need for revision can be attributed to the tendency for your tissues to stretch more than the average and is usually, to a great degree, genetically controlled. Also people after massive weight loss tend to have excessive tissue stretch that more often than not requires revision. With regard to changing doctors, you sound as though you are not comfortable going back to your surgeon. In that case you should certainly have a consultation with one or more board certified plastic surgeons to get recommendations for your revision and have it done. Best wishes to you.
