I have this crease on my side that appeared out of no where, assuming from sleeping and the compression garment digging in. Appeared one morning and after trying to massage it out and getting lymphatic massages I am unable to work it out. I’m so extremely pleased with my results even just 4 1/2 weeks out! This little crease on my side is just annoying me and I’m hoping it just goes away with time. But if any suggestions that would be great other than what I’m doing.
Answer: Post-Liposuction After Care -- Compression, Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Radiofrequency (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Forma) Swelling post-lipo can persist for months, so it's important to be on the right after care protocols. I recommend following up with your physician about their suggested after care protocol. I have my patients wear compression for 3 to 6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. I suggest adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding Vanquish for further fat removal; truSculpt iD, Exilis, Forma, and Venus Legacy for additional skin tightening; and Cellutone / ZWave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. It will take 6 to 12 months to see the final outcome. Ultimately, if you are unhappy with your results, please speak to your physician and ensure that he/she was a full body VASER Hi-Definition liposuction physician with extensive experience in contouring and body shaping -- and not just traditional fat reduction. You can always get a revision procedure by an expert if needed. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Crease on side Hello, A crease that has persisted for the past five days may be permanent. If aggressive massage has not taken care of it, you may need to have a revision to lift the adhesion. However, you are still early out of surgery, and it may very well work its way out! Time will tell.. It would be best to make an appointment with your plastic surgeon to a plan of action. Thank you for the question, and congrats on your surgery. Take care!

Answer: Crease Following Liposuction While it's great to hear that you're mostly happy with your results at only 4.5 weeks following your surgery, your body still may have more healing to do and swelling to go down. But if after 3 months you still have concerns, you could consider a revision procedure to improve the contour and correct any irregularities. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Concerned about results for weeks after liposuction At four weeks you're starting to get an idea of what your final results will look like. Previous to this you had swelling to the point of not seeing your final outcome. As the swelling resolves your results based on how the procedure was performed are now starting to come to life. I typically tell patients in six weeks you get a sneak preview of your final results but three months is required until you should not expect changes by waiting longer. The uneven contour on your body is purely related to how the procedure was performed. This has nothing to do with massage or compression garments. It's simply not possible to change your own fat distribution through physical manipulation after surgery. Give this 3 to 6 months then discuss your outcome with your provider. There's nothing you can do to change your outcome. It's difficult to make an accurate assessment based on the real self post even with good pictures. So take this for what it is. Others may differ in their opinion. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
