1 Week Post- Op and Couldn’t Be Happier!!

I had liposuction on my abdomen and flanks just a week ago and couldn’t be happier! After all the research I did, I decided on ABS because of how detailed and aggressive Dr. Zuhlke is for stubborn areas. I am so glad I decided to go through with the procedure and I’d do it again in a minute flat. The staff is unreal! They are so attentive and reassuring. Kelly had me laughing and relaxed bef...

EMSculpt for diastasis recti

I have had three children in 4 years. My abs were shot and basically letting it all hang out. My stomach is my main unhappiness with my body not just for it's look but how the quality of my life was being effected by the separation and bulge. With that being said, I didn't want surgery as I am still breast feeding and I do plan to have another child in the future. I know EMSculpt is costly but...

Love Handles Gone

“I had liposuction surgery performed at the ABS Institute by Dr. Zuhlke in January. I was blessed with a pair of “love handles” that no diet or exercise seemed to touch, so after decades of waffling I finally decided to take the plunge. Long story short, I don’t know how my outcome could have been better. The “handles”are gone, the area has firmed up and I can now wear a bathing suit withou...

ABS Institute Staff Was the Best. If Considering EmScupt – Start with Them!

If you’re anything like me and have those areas that no matter how much work core and ab work you put in, you still wish your belly was a little flatter or little more toned you should definitely give ABS Institute a call and about EmSculpt. A little about me, I am 51 (yikes! When did that happen). I have a pretty regular routine that includes 3-4x a week of Pilates / core strength c...

Do not go here - left with a figure I'll never be able to fix

My cancer treatment made me gain so much weight. I finally had some extra money and to celebrate my 5 year cancer anniversary, I treated myself to what I thought would be a gift of looking more like myself before the cancer. Unfortunately now I'm left with a figure I'll never be able to fix. The emptional damage is beyond repair. I originally wrote a review and deleted it because I was told...

10 Q&A

Q: Roll on abdomen 5 weeks after Vaser Lipo. Will this go away or do I need more lipo? (phtos)
Answered by Kelly FitzharrisMay 22, 2019

A: Thank you for your question!

At five weeks post, you are still early in your healing. I have seen lumps and bumps smooth out over a 3-6 month period, so be patient!

If this does not smooth out, you may need a revision. That could be in the form of another round of liposuction, or maybe skin removal. It is hard to tell with the photos at hand.

Again, be patient. You may end up being perfectly happy in the upcoming months! Good luck!

Q: I'm getting Vaser Lipo for full abdomen, waist and flanks. Will 4 separate sessions be too much?
Answered by Kelly FitzharrisMay 22, 2019

A: Thank you for the question!
If I were you, I would want to get as much done in one surgery as safely possible. Less surgeries Less downtime. If you do four separate surgeries, that is a lot of recovery time! Here, we are usually able to get the upper and lower abdomen, hips and flanks done in one case. If it is not safe (too much lidocaine, too long of a surgery) then we will split the surgery into two stages.

I'd advise you to get a couple more consultations. That way, you have a better idea of what can be done.

Good luck!

Q: I got a crease in my side 5 days ago, 4 weeks post op Vaser Lipo on stomach. What else can I do for it? (photo)
Answered by Kelly FitzharrisMay 22, 2019

A: Hello,

A crease that has persisted for the past five days may be permanent. If aggressive massage has not taken care of it, you may need to have a revision to lift the adhesion. However, you are still early out of surgery, and it may very well work its way out! Time will tell.. It would be best to make an appointment with your plastic surgeon to a plan of action.

Thank you for the question, and congrats on your surgery. Take care!

Q: 2 weeks post-op lipo on my lower abdomen. Is this swelling or is my fat back? (photos)
Answered by Kelly FitzharrisMay 22, 2019

A: Hello,

At two weeks, you are FAR from your final results. It is going to take three months before you get a great idea of where you will be once you are healed. Be patient!

You do seem to have an indentation/crease on your lower abdomen. I'd suggest going back to your plastic surgeon to ensure that you are not wearing improper garments.

Good luck!

Q: I have been eating very average/bad food some days within 3 weeks after my surgery. Will this hurt my results?
Answered by Kelly FitzharrisMay 16, 2019

A: It is always advised to eat a clean diet after any surgery to promote healing. However, you will not harm your results unless you continue to eat poorly for an extended period of time and put on significant weight.

Good job on the smoothies! Keep it up!
