A 5200 cc liposuction is a little over 11 lbs of weight. Many specimens are a combination of fluid and fat.
When we perform tumescent liposuction we add fluid with local anesthesia and a medication called adrenaline to limit any bleeding. The fluid that is then removed has the fat in it, and we measure that fluid in ccs. After the fat has separated we measure how much fat has been removed, and 1000 cc of fat represents 2.2 pounds of fat. So doing the math, you had about 11 and 1/2 pounds of fat removed. Congratulations!
