This is difficult to assess without a photo to see the location. Puffiness along the lower eyelid is commonly fat bulging forward from the compartment that surrounds the eye structures within the orbit.. It also can be seen at the inside corner of the upper lid. These areas can usually be improved with surgery. It is best to have this evaluated by a qualified surgeon if it is a concern. I hope this helps.
As we age, gravitational changes, volume loss, and skin deterioration can all affect the appearance of the eyes. Some people develop a herniation of the fat that surrounds the eye. This is referred to as the "bags under the eyes, or the bulging of the upper eyelids.See a surgeon who can computer image you to discuss your specific anatomy and develop a long-term plan.Best wishes.
Do you mean the fat in the inner corner of the upper lids? That is fat that has moved forward in the orbit, so it is visible below the skin. This is a common aging change. It can be removed surgically. See an oculoplastic surgeon for this.
It would be unusual for fat to herniate and be visible in the corner of your eye. If it is a concern see an ophthalmologist.
Hello,You seem to be answering your own question. Yes. Most likely, if there is a bulge, it is typically fat that is herniating from around your eye. It would be best to get a consult with a facial plastic, oculoplastic, or plastic surgeon in your area.Good luck!
Orbital fat can protrude from the inner corner of the upper eyelid or from the entire lower eyelid area. This is commonly referred to as an eyelid bag. This can either be camouflaged with injectable filler or removed with blepharoplasty surgery if it bothers you. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for your question. I wold need a consultation or a photograph to answer your question. It is common with aging for the fat to become more visible.
Thanks for your question. The most common problem that would explain bulging around the eyes is a fat pocket. As we age, these pockets become more prominent due to multiple factors associated with aging. Another common issue, depending on where you are seeing this bulge, is a prolapsed lacrimal gland. This is the gland that is responsible for creating tears. There are also multiple medical conditions that can cause similar issues. First step is get evaluated in person and to see exactly what your problem is. Good luck!
Surface contour deformities around the eye area are most often caused by underlying fatty tissue. Often this can be improved with plastic surgery.
Thanks for your question. The eye socket contains fat that protects and cushions your eyeball. As we age, the support structures for your eyelids thin which then allows the fat to start to bulge forward. The eyelid skin also can get thin and stretched. The excess fat and skin are addressed in blepharoplasty surgery. Upper eyelid surgery is a very popular option for people with aging changes around their eyes. There is generally minimal discomfort and can be done in the office.
I agree, your brows are in excellent position. The lifting muscle in the eyelid may have stretched out causing eyelid ptosis. Please consult with an Oculoplastic Surgeon to evaluate and treat this common issue. Good luck.
