Answer: Epicanthal fold correction There is a procedure to lessen or remove epicanthal folds. This is often referred to as westernizing the eyelid. It involves a small z-plasty and flip flopping of two small skin flaps to lengthen the fold and let it sit flat. The procedure works nicely and is done with simple local anesthesia injections in the office operating room in about 1 hour. Sutures are removed at one week and then you will have a great result the rest of your life.
