A medial epicanthoplasty changes the fold that hangs over the inner canthus. It is a very small procedure and, if not overdone, the small scar that results can be a fair tradeoff for most patients.

The surgery you are describing is an epicanthoplasty. There are several approaches including Z-plasty, etc.The decision that you must make is whether you're willing to trade the epicanthal folds for a visible scar.  Because even if you heal very well, it will still leave a scar.  An image search on the terms epicanthoplasty scars will show you some very good results, and some no-so-good results.  It is impossible to predict in Asian skin types how well that scar will hide.  If the risk of a visible scar is unacceptable, then proceed with extreme caution.Best wishes!  Harry V.
